My Dear Sweet Soul,
This is for you to get to know me, on the real. It is an opportunity to be open armed into the truth of Love. One thing that defines me, I am concerned for the emotional well being of others. Love is patient—I’ve been known to be too patient. Love is kind—I have been known to be the kindest person, yet it is hard, its rough and tumbly.
I’m not here to judge you. To love you into whatever treatment options you choose for your mental and emotional trauma, I am blessed by your decisions. You see, the magic of how we meet whether by this modality or on the street, it’s very special. Picture us, grabbing coffee on the go, and out the door we exchange a glance and suddenly we recognize one another.
“Hey Friend!” as I typically say, “ How are you? You look great!”
followed by “ I pray for you. I mean it. I have you close in my heart today.”
In my heart, I am a person who will share and meet you where you are. I can sense things. As a classified “Highly Sensitive Person” basically, I feel and hear so many things that my mind, body and even gut instinct go into sensory overload. Many days, I find myself looking for things to calm down; Meditation, alone time, naps, yes I take naps, I am introverted.
It is not easy, the roads we travel. It’s been my life’s journey to mindfully study the behavior of individuals and then help them towards a life out of the dark places.
I believe that with our diagnosis, our traumas we have experienced and with our symptomology, this is where we thrive.
Now picture us laughing about something random you found on the internet. Some inside joke that we only know about. See? There’s that quick wit and a smile.
I want to be a champion cheerleader. I’m not here to tell you what to do, yet to help guide you in the magnificent healing journey. That smile you just shared- its healing me right in this moment. We start with a song, Pick one of your favorites on Spotify or YouTube. What did you choose? I would pick “Three Little Birds” by Bob Marley. Can’t you just hear the words…
“Don’t Worry, about a thing. Cuz’ every little thing, is going to be alright”
There, now you share yours. Sing it with your best ability. This is how we enter the truth with Love. We share a smile. We share an on-the-go mini conversation. This is how we start a relationship based on sentimentals, values/trust and whimsy between us. I may come to find you someday, even in my dark space. I can say, if you make me laugh even a smidge, that is the moment even I start to heal. Join me as we find a place in the middle of the chaos. Let’s just sit with each other awhile. My words and stories could go on for days. I’m sure we shall sit back one day and really dig into what makes you YOU and what made me this quirky psychologist pastor.
For now, be well dear heart… for our process of JOY is before us. Are you ready? I sure am.
